Server Rules

Solstice Roleplay – Rules and Regulations

Section 1: General Rules

Language

All members are required to speak English, both in-game and in Discord. Exemption to this rule is for RP scenarios or explicit permission from staff.

Microphone

Microphones are required to join and participate in Solstice Roleplay.

Cheating/Exploiting

Members/Players of Solstice Roleplay will not use server bugs or game mechanics to gain an advantage against other players. Any Exploits found should be reported to the development team ASAP. Continuing to abuse a known exploit is a bannable offense. Staff may remove any assets gained from abusing said exploit at their discretion. If something appears to provide crazy gain, open a ticket in the Discord to ask about it.

Disruption

Members/Players are not allowed to disrupt the server. Disruption of the server includes but is not limited to, trolling, spamming (microphone and chat), and advertising.

Leaking/Doxxing

Leaking and doxxing are strictly prohibited and will result in an automatic ban and blacklist from the community.

Derogatory Statements

Using derogatory terms (sexist, racist, ableist, etc.) is strictly prohibited in or out of character.

Affiliation with Leaking Servers

Any members who are found to be involved in leaking or cheating on Discord, websites, etc. will be removed from the community without notice.

Section 2: Game Rules

Metagame

Metagaming is known as “using out-of-character information for in-character use” and is prohibited.

Stream sniping is another common form of meta-gaming and will not be tolerated.

Powergaming

Powergaming is “behavior that forces actions upon others or creates unrealistic situations without allowing for fair or reasonable roleplay interactions” and is prohibited.

Random Deathmatch

Commonly known as RDM, it is prohibited. An interaction, in character, must be made before you can kill someone. There must be reasoning behind any killing. Some scenarios may override this rule with staff approval.

Vehicle Deathmatch

Commonly known as VDM or VRDM, it is prohibited. Under no circumstances should a vehicle be used to strike other players without reason. Much like RDM, there must be reasoning and RP behind the action. We do understand that in some cases, players are in the way and are hit as a result, similar to Grand Theft Auto’s AI. This will be handled on a case by case scenario.

Staying in Character

While roleplaying, you may only break character if it becomes a staff situation. Scenes and roleplay must be as realistic as possible.

Combat Logging

Combat logging includes, but is not limited to, logging out of the server to avoid jail time, Law Enforcement, staff, and combat, and is prohibited.

Green Zones

Buildings such as police stations should be treated as they are in real life. Treat them as if they are fully staffed at all times, regardless of the cop count.

San Andreas Fire Rescue personnel are considered green zones, they cannot be killed, robbed, kidnapped, or have any other violent action taken against them while they are on duty.

At no time may a fire and rescue vehicle be robbed, regardless of the duty status of the operator of the rig.

Impersonation

Impersonating members of Staff is strictly forbidden.

Government Corruption

Members of high command may not be corrupt in any way, including but not limited to taking bribes, selling or giving out armory items, or committing major felonies.

Members of the bench in the Department of Justice may not be corrupt in any form. This includes any judge or higher.

Character Transfers

You may not transfer items or money from one of your characters to another. You may not use a “middleman” to transfer items or money from one character to another.

Police Minimums

Most scripts in the server have minimum LEO counts. For scenarios that don’t require such as; shootings, etc, a minimum of 2 LEOs must be online. Active police online can be viewed by pressing HOME. (This only applies to action against LEO.)

You may run from the police with less than the requirement on duty; however, do not do it repeatedly to an unrealistic standard.

Any cop that intentionally puts themselves in danger may be harmed. For example, a cop pursuing a warrant for an armed person may be harmed.

Crimes Against NPCs

Crimes against NPCs will be treated the same as they would against players. Ex. Murdering an NPC would lead to you getting a murder charge.

Bulletproof/resistant Vehicles

It is prohibited to use bulletproof/resistant vehicles, including those with bulletproof/resistant panels or windows, in the commission of a crime. If you find a vehicle that has bulletproof windows/tires, please report it to the staff/development team immediately.

14. FailRP

If being asked a question through /me or /do, you MAY NOT lie.

15. Cameras

Property owners have the authority to decide whether cameras on their property are operational or not. Once a property owner designates a camera as non-operational, it must remain non-operational permanently and cannot be reactivated.

For any evidence to be admissible as "camera evidence," it must originate from a physical, identifiable camera model.

You are not allowed to lie or misrepresent facts in-game response to cameras.

16. “Blacked-out Plates”

If a vehicle has a plate that has been “removed,” it will appear as all-black if the vehicle has a physical plate. Police cannot read the plain text on the plate. The plate must be treated as missing.

Civilians with blacked-out plates CAN have their vehicles impounded for Failure to display a License Plate.

To get the plate of a vehicle once it has been stopped/found, you may grab the plate from the top left after accessing the trunk or glovebox. This may be referred to as grabbing the vehicle's “VIN Number”.

A blacked-out plate will not display on LEO’s ALPR.

17. Character Names

Character names should avoid any sort of inappropriate references. Character names should avoid any sort of celebrities or highly recognized individuals.

18. Department Membership

Members of Solstice Roleplay may only be in two departments: one LEO and one secondary, or no LEO and two secondary. This rule allows members to be active in all departments rather than scrambling to meet the minimum. Ex. You may be in LSPD and SAFR.

Section 3: Character Rules

Value of Life

When roleplaying, you must act as if it’s real life and not a video game. While this is a rule, do not make the game unenjoyable to you or others.

Sniper and Hitman RP

Random RP events involving snipers or hitmen are prohibited unless sanctioned by a staff member or a sanctioned gang leader/leadership.

Partaking in Sniper RP is strictly against the rules.

Partaking in Hitman RP is allowed as long as there is actual role-playing involved. In the event a hit is placed on someone, there must be at least 30 seconds of proper roleplay involved before a player is killed.

Nudity

Nude Character models are prohibited.

Erotic/Sexual Content

While Grand Theft Auto is an 18+ game, please keep in mind that a streamer friendly environment should be maintained at all times.

Character Switching

Switching between characters to avoid consequences (like evading a police investigation or gang conflict) is prohibited. When switching characters, allow reasonable cooldown times to avoid disrupting ongoing RP.

If your game crashes during an active scene, you must return to the scene on the character you were on. If you are unable to return to a scene, please open a ticket in the Discord server and inform us of the situation, so we may share that information with the necessary people in the event a ticket is opened.

Permadeath

If you wish to permanently kill off a character, you must open a ticket before doing so. There are a few guidelines that must be followed.

I. All unpaid citations must be paid
Ii. The character must be deleted after the completion of the scene

You are not allowed to transfer any of your assets to another player before killing off a character. Any physical owned assets of your character will be either auctioned off or put back on the market for other players to own. (Convenience stores, houses, businesses)

Respawning

Players may not respawn if they are in an active scene and downed. Regardless of what the medical system allows you to do.

Character Swapping

After committing a major crime (E.g., Evading, murdering), players should wait at least 10 minutes before swapping characters.

Hostages

Players may not use civilians that are known to them as hostages. This relates to the character, not the person.

Revenge RP

If your character seeks revenge, it should be for clear, in-character reasons and not lead to constant harassment. Revenge should be handled through storyline and progression rather than repetitive attacks or encounters.

Downed Player

Once a player goes down, a ping is sent to Medical Services. If EMS are online, you are required to wait for them to arrive.

Temporary Characters

Players should not make characters to commit one-time criminal activities. Doing this will result in the removal of a character slot by staff.

Section 4: Game Laws

Felony Status

A person with a felony charge may not possess a firearm. After a period of four (4) days, a person may apply for a new license, given that they haven’t had any additional felonies since.

Felons must obtain weapons through an alternative method, like purchasing from another player.

Players can apply for reinstatement by contacting the Department of Justice or using the Discord ticket system. You can set up meetings with a judge. Try to utilize the in-character options first.

License Plates

If a vehicle has a full-black plate, it is to be treated as if the vehicle has no plate at all. Attempting to read the plate to determine the owner is not permitted.

Any Tow/Mechanic-related vehicles that do not display a license plate are not to be cited for failing to display a license plate.

If a vehicle license plate is readable by LEO Plate readers, any information gathered from it is allowed to be used by LEO. (Proper blacked out plates will not display information on LEO radars.)

Section 5: Gang Rules

All of these rules apply only to certified gangs. Any group of people interested in becoming a certified gang should reach out to the staff on our Discord via a ticket.

Hits

Hits can only be authorized by the gang leader/leadership.

Hits can only be authorized for a valid reason and must have a minimum of a $250,000 payout.

Once the target player has been downed, the hit is marked as completed (You can not keep killing the same person repeatedly).

Gang Wars

The leader/leadership of a gang must initiate gang wars. Gang wars can only be initiated against another recognized gang.

Gang War Violence

When a gang war occurs, it does not simply give you free reign to start murdering every person you see. They must be wearing the opposing gang colors, and an attempt at interaction must be made.

Crossfire of civilians and law enforcement must be limited to the best of your ability; just because they entered the area of your war doesn’t give you the right to kill them. However, if they begin to interfere, you may deal with them as you see fit.

Gang wars should only be initiated for valid reasons. “The other guy looked at me funny” is not a valid reason.

Gang wars over territory are bound to happen. However, if your gang controls 100% of the territories, give other gangs a chance to have fun.

Clothing

When participating in any gang activity, your character's clothing must be 75% of your gang's designated color.

Section 6: Player-Owned Businesses

Public Shops

Truck You Repair mechanic shops will not be ownable by any player.

Activity

Businesses will be required to be semi-active. Failure to keep a shop active will result in its removal from the current owner. The shop will then be placed back up for auction with the previous owner blacklisted from bidding on it.

If the owner is unable to be active, they should open a ticket and alert staff/development that they are unable to meet the requirement, and name someone to temporarily run their shop.

Employees

For the time being, a player owned business will only be able to have four (4) total employees. The owner and 3 other employees.

A player may not be employed by more than 1 of the same type of business. (2 mech shops, 2 restaurants)

Employees must be paid reasonably for their work.

Shop Count

A player may not own multiple mechanic shops, restaurants, etc. across multiple characters.

Customers

Mechanic shops and Dealership owners may not permanently “ban” or “bar” people from their shops. A temporary ban for the RP is fine, but they must have a chance to return in the future.

In the rare event that a mechanic shop owner feels that a permanent ban from a shop is warranted, they may apply for a restraining order through a judge in-game. Dealerships may not apply for a restraining order.

Exclusive businesses may not deny services to emergency services at any time. These include services that may only be purchased via one method. Ex: Luxury Vehicles

Ownership Transfer

If a player wants to transfer ownership of a mechanic shop to another player, they must open a support ticket in the main Discord.

Police Partnerships

Mechanic shops may “partner” with Law Enforcement Agencies. To do so, they must create a written agreement of both sides are properly considered, then meet with a judge for it to be formalized. Contracts must be notarized by a judge to be considered active.

Events

Mechanic shops are free to host car shows, drag race events, etc. (at airfields with permission) without contacting staff.

If you wish to have an advert posted in the main Discord to reach more people, open a ticket in the main Discord. Staff may even help provide special prizes.

Shop MLOs

If a shop wishes to change the actual map for their shop, they may do so by opening a ticket in the main Discord. The development team will look into the map for any possible conflicts or performance issues.

If a map is approved, the cost of the map and any additional fees (taxes, VAT, etc.) must be covered by the person(s) requesting it.

Make sure to refer to the Donations channel in the Solstice RP Discord before requesting an interior.

Businesses may advertise on social media in-game. Businesses may not create fake promotions to gain customers.

Illegal Activities

Businesses may run illegal activities within them. Getting caught by Law Enforcement MAY lead to you losing your business. Be careful.

Preventative Maintenance

The mechanic script in the server adds a need for vehicles to be serviced (oil change, brake pads, air filters, etc.). Owned mechanic shops must provide this as a service when requested.

13. Price Gouging

Shops may not price-gouge for items that do not have a fixed cost (oil, filters, brakes, dynos, etc.)

Any violation of the rules outlined above can result in a ban and/or deletion of your character.

Our staff team has complete discretion over the enforcement of the rules, meaning actions will vary from case to case. Repeat offenders or rule violation severity will change the severity of disciplinary action.

Not knowing the rules does not make you exempt from them.

In the event of rule disputes, staff have the FINAL say.

Staff reserve the right to amend these rules as they see fit with notice.
